Swami Chinmayananda

Swami Chinmayananda ( birth name Balakrishna Menon) (1916-1993), was originally a journalist and participated in the Indian independence movement.

Then, under the able guidance of Swami Sivananda and later Tapovan Maharaj, he began studying Vedanta.

He was a spiritual teacher and the founder of the Chinmaya Mission, a worldwide organisation dedicated to spreading the teachings of Vedanta and promoting spiritual and cultural values. He played a significant role in popularizing the ancient Indian philosophy of Vedanta and making it accessible to people around the world .

In the year 1992, Chinmayananda addressed the United Nations and the talk was titled - “Planet in crisis “. The US magazine , Hinduism Today, conferred him with its Hindu Renaissance Award and the title of “ Hindu of the year “.

Practice Mindfulness: Be fully present in the moment, that itself is a form of meditation and avoid dwelling on the past or worrying and thinking about the future.

Be helpful and kind : Engage in acts of kindness and contribution .

Limit Negative Media: Reduce exposure to negative media.

Learn to Manage Stress: Develop healthy coping mechanisms to handle stress. Keep options of stress busters ready .

Keep on Learning: Engage in continuous learning and pursue hobbies that interest you.
