Daniel Ellsberg

Daniel Ellsberg is an American economist, political activist, and former United States military analyst. Ellsberg is well known for his activism on the dangers of the nuclear era and wrongful U.S. interventions. While employed by the RAND Corporation, he precipitated a national political controversy in 1971 when he released the Pentagon Papers, a top-secret Pentagon study of the U.S. government decision-making concerning the Vietnam War. They revealed that, early on, the government knew that the war could most likely not be won. Ellsberg was awarded the Right Livelihood Award, Gandhi Peace Award, Olof Palme Prize, and many more.
